VOLUNTEER NOTES.
At the Guards' parade on Tuesday evening the member* of the corps J handed in their rifles, baymtts, sights protectors, etc., which load been called in previous ti the issue of magazine rifles. On Tuesday evening Captain Taunton received a message stating that three chests containing 60 LasEnfie'd magazine r'.fles hid been despatched by the D.fence Department. will be issued on arrival. The khaki caps of the Guards are I now ornamented with a strip showing the : r colours—amber, blue, and black. This decorative was issued at Tuesday's parade.
