A TELEPHONE WORRY.
[PXS PBBSS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, July 16. A novel case came before the S.M. to day. It appeared a firm of grocers received continuous complaints about orders sent by telephone not being fulfilled. Inquiries were made, and it was alleged that the discovery was nude that the clients, were sometimes being switched on to an oyster dealer, who was said to have been in the habit of replying that he was the grocer, book the orders, and said no more abotft them. Plaintiff claimed j£l 194 damages for misuse of telephone. After a long argument, p'aintifi was nooauited, the .Magistrate expressing an opinion that the oysterman may have been annoyed by the cons f ant mistakes ia the telephonic connection and answered in the way stated.
