The New Plymouth School Committee ',ield an adjourned mfe'ing on Wednfsday evening. Present: Messrs. Co'lis (Chairman), Murny, GiukroJger, T. White, P. Whit», and Bruce. The headmaster reported that the attendance at, tho re opr-nine of the was 460; alfothat abou 1 ; .£l2 had been collected for stationery, over £7 of which had been spent. The sub-com-vr.ittreappoitited to consider the matter repotted s'rongly in favour of asking the Chairman (Mr. Collis) to brcme a candidate for a seat on. the Board, After some discussion, in which the members present concurred in the course proposed, it was decided unanimously to ask Mr, Cjliis to consent to tin nominated, not out of hos'ihty to any of the retiring -members, but in support of the principle involved in the * wing examination question. The Ohnirman having consen'ei to l-ecomo a candidate Mr. Murray was deputed to assist him in di awing up a circular embodying the Committee's views. Accounts were passed, and the Comrnit'ee adjourned.
