'i hj« chief Uook, Madame Waniera, stited thut oa the nigl.t of th fire she heard stuffing and quirre'li'.g in the dioiog room, and a man'it vo'c calling out " Where are the key<s ? where are the keys ?" Oq going out to investigate she saw strange men i the passage, who had their faces from her. The night porter, Jones, th j only other wi'ness called, denied the presence of strangers on the premise, and stit' d he hud h'ard no noise as of men quarrelling, as alleged by Madam? Waiters. The enquiry was then cd journed to the 27th inst.
