CENSUS RETURNS.
THE FOUR OKNTBBS. [PBB PBHBS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, June 15. The official census returns of the four four cities give : —Auckland, 34,319, with suburbs 07,252 ; Wellington 43,586, with suburbs 49,292; Ghriatchureh 17,537, with suburbs 57,037; Ducedin 24,886, with suburb! 52,398. I The percentages of inert ate are:— Wellington, 18 04 percent.; Auckland, 16 69; Obristchuicb, IH2: Dunedin, 10 82. It is claimed that Petone should be included in the Wellington suburbs, which would then give a total of nearly 54,000 but the Registrar decline! to do this, though equally distant boroughs ire included in other towns.
