A mee'ing wai held in the schoolroom at Egmont V llage on FiHay night last, for the purpose of formirg a branch of the New Zetland Farmers' Union there. M--. G. Mnrsb. oceupid the chair and intr du.ed Mr. C. L ech, the Chairman of the Ir,g!ewo?d branch, ■who gave an account of the Union from itj origin to the present timr. Messrs. B. Old and T. Tuck, from the Inglewcod branch also addressed the meetiag on the ebject of tbe Union and the benefits to be derived from combining toge'ber. A general discussion followed, on the platform rf the Union, neirly all present being dacided against the main pi inks of thplatform; but they fullya'ive to thf benefits of farmers ombining tog'th'r, so on the mo'ion of Mr. Prire, sxonded by Mr. Marsh, those present decided to form a branch < f the Uni n, every person present joining there and then. The meeting then a ec'ed elev n members as a cjramitte to canvass for members, Mr. G. M'.rsh being de3!ed Chairman, and Mr. G. Foster Hicrttiry pro ten. A hearty v,t9 of thanks to the chair and visiting members concluded a very snecessful meeting.
