TECHNICAL INSTRUCTION.
PBB PRESS ASSOOIATION. Wellington, April 26. The following grants have been made to Education Boards to enable them to impart manual and technical instruction tj teachers in their service:— Auckland £250, Wellington, North Canterbury, and Otago £2OO each, Wanganui, Hawke's Bay and Southland £l5O each; Nelson and South Canterbury £125 each ; Grey, Westhnd and Ma'lborough £75. Palmerston North, April 26. A masting of combined school commit was held here latst evening to consider a scheme outlined by Dr Smyth, Chief Inspector of the Wauginui Education Board for- establishing a combiued Technical and High School in Palmerston. Tr.e proposal was approved and Dr. Smyth was asked to place his scheme in readiness to lay before the Minister for Education. Dr. Soayth stitfd he intended asking the! schools to form an Association, for the purpose of y er »>'y disp'ays cf athletics, o lisihenics, sirjgirjg, etc, Jon similar lines to the schools in North Canterbury,
