BAZAAR IN AID OF THE CONVENT

The mucb talked of Bazaar in aid of the Convent funds was opened at the Theatre Royal by His Worship the Mayor (Mr Dockrill) on Mond«y aft»r noon. In addressing Dean McKenna and thoße present, Mr Dockrill expressed the pleasure it afforded him to assist in so goed an object and alluded to the excellent educational and charitable work carried out by the Sisters. He payed a warm tribute of praise to the high class plain and fancy needlework exhibited and wished the Bazaar every suoeess. Daring the afternoon and evening a large throng of visitors amused themielves by inspecting the exhibits and cheerfully parting with money either for direct purchases or participating in rallied in connection with the more expenaivo gooda. The various articles both of a ÜBeful and ornamental nature were, marked at very reasonable prices and it is not surprising to learn that very good business was done. The Hall losked very pretty and the arrangements at the stalls were most satisfactory. A brisk trade was done at the refreshment stalls and side chows. The Bazaar is open again to-day and should \>3 extensively patronised.
