RIFLE MATCH.

WAITAEA RIKLES v. TARAVAKI GUARDS. A team of ten men from the Guards journeyed to Waitara yesterday under Captain Taunton in response to a challenge from the Waitara Rifles to fire a friendly match. As the Waitara corps is armed with the Snider riflaa handicap of two men was allowed them, and a very pleasant day was spent. The weather wis beantiful and the range a first-class one, and the hospitality of the Waitara team to their visitors is spoken of in the highest paasible terms by Captain Taunton and his men, Not only was there a most bountiful supply of fool ami refreshments on the ground, but each of the visitors received a mage cordial invitation to the dance given in the evening by the Waitara corps.
