Mrs EWing and her friends I prepared: an excellent programme and | Wis n ; gb.t, Wednesday, thi Hall on the I South read, opposite the school, was] dmsely packed with children and tUair friends, and a very pleasant evening was spant. Mr. gave a well-render* d ' racira'ioa and Mr. Johnson a bujoGroas reading. Songs were suug, with excellent effect, by Misses. George, 0)llis, Wbnburn, A,mbury, Dpuglas, Drev, Nixon, and Mr Black. The chief feitute of tha programmi was, the action soogi of the children. Taase opnfis'el of •• The Bwppy Children," '-' Harrying a next-," " Exercise,"' " Grumbling Tommy," and '•' J>'na Burlesque Band." , The. song JJxcaroise aad The Burlesque B.an,d wore excellent productions, the i latter especially must hava bean a jjood t< s', to the memory, and waa aim w* faultless. All the items, wore faea: tily applauded, several being encore I, none of which however were responded to. The '' Eveaing Song " and " God Hav.i the King " concluded a very successful j ontertainment
