THE ROYAL VISIT.
[PER prbss association.] Received 30, 0.18 a.m London, March 29. Wireless telegraphic messages have Wen sent by the Ophia from Oanea, Soda Bay, and the Island of Crete. A similar message was sent to Malta when the Ophia was 110 miles distant. Received 31, 5.11 p.m. Lohdon, March 30. The Ophir arrived at Fort Srid at three o'clock to-day and the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall landed. The, Duke exchanged a visit with Prince Mahomed Ali, the Khedive's brother, and afterwards visited Lady Stroogford's Hospital. He entertains tonight Prince Mahomed, Lord Cromer and several others at dinner, and renames the journey early to-morrow. Dusxdih, March 30. The Fremier wires that ins'ruetions have been given the Government officers to prepare design and plans for a section of arch, asd the Mayor is naked to fix a site. Mr. Seddon suggests the design for the local Government areh should be the entrance to Balmoral or something on similar lines, which would be familiar to thair Highnesses, and pleasing to, the people of Otago generally.
