I Late in the afternoon shooting began, but only one belt match was finished, the chief scorers being Hewlett (Christchurch College Rifles), 1; King (Oamaru), 2 ; and v\ . Ballinger, 3; Welch (Wairarapa), Gower and others close up. The shooting to-day was a little erratic, but at the finish the "Weodville men were still in front, Loreday, Wilsoß, and Nelson going Tery strong. Hewlett has won the Carbine Cup. In the Otago Match Hewlett (Oliristchureh) was first with 47, King (Oamaru) 46 second, W. Ballinger 45 third. Then came half a dozen similar scores. Wanqanui, March 26. There is fine weather to-day with but little wind, and the shooting is good. The following are the chief prize-takers in the Wellington Match:— > Wellington Match, 500, 600, and 700 yards; 7 shots.
