STAR FOOTBALL CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of tho Star Football Ulub was held on Friday evening, Hl3 Worship tho M iyc (Mr E. Dockrill) presiding. Tho attendance was very large. Tho annual report referred to the (satisfactory financial po.-ition of the Club, the year haviug commenced with a debit balance of 2s 6d and ended with a credit baUnce of £ls 6s 3d with liabilities of £6 2s, this result being largely dui to thu valuable assistance i given by lady supporters at the annual social. Both seniors and juniors weiv complimont'd on tin excellent standing made in the cup matches bo'.h teams having wou the championship of tho district. The report and balance sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected: —President: His Worship the Mayor (re-elccted). Vice-Presidents; Drs. and Heme, Mrs«\s Dempsey, E. M. Smith, Arthur, J. Avsry, P. Jury, Tisch, Taunton, Harrison, Bishop, Gillespie and A. Leslie. Captain : L. Al'eH. Vice-CaptaiD: A. L. Humphries. Secretary and Treasurer: C. B. Lever. Assist,-Secretary: J. 0. Morey. Senior Delegate : F. Bellringer. Junior Delegate : W. G. Beckett. It was decided that the Management Committee consist of five members, the following being elected by billot:— Messrs F. Hammond, J. Elliot, F. Bellringer, T. Callaghan, and A. H«mphriss. For the Sejestion seniors, Messrs. A. Humphries, Beckett, with the captain were appointed. The fi:st and second juniors will appoint their Selection Committees after the teams are chosen. It was decided that the subscription by playing members be 2s 6d, and by honorary members sa. The question of a ground was hr'ueht up and di«cn^®c); several membra sfroi gly (yU'oc.ited approa hing the Council with a view to having Poverty Flat made avai'able. Eventually it was decided tha,t the Management Commit'e?, with. Messrs. J. Abbott and A. L.tdnrr take tho matter into consideration and make the bi&st arrangement possible. It was decided to form a gymnasium class in connection with the cluV. Messrs. Hill, Beckett, Abatt,. George, and W. Sadler were appointed a comto deal with tho matter. Messrs. Pillingsr, E. Billings, W. Sul'.ivan, F. Bell, F. Roberts, H. Beamish, G. Bruce, F. Seamark, W. Dixon, Wintsrs, Taylor, W. McGonagle, Baruclough, G. Treeby, W. Hill, J. Courtuey, Grummit, W. Stanley, F, Cobum, E. Rosaman, W. : Sinclair, and S.
