OPUNAKE NOTES.
(fkom our own correspondent.) Opunake and Pihama combined teams met Mauaia at tannis, at Manaia, on Saturday last. The weather was perfect and the Manaia Club are to be congratulated on the excellent condition of the courts. The result of the contest was a win for Opunake-Piham» by the somewhat narrow nnrgin of 10 games, i.e., 115 to 105. The following is the detailed score :

Men'*; Doubles.—Good and Mssoa (Pihama), 6 ; Cooper and Newing, 4. Heenan and Bryce, 6 ; Good and Halcsmbp, 4. Lambie and Walker, 6; Whito and Wilkie, 3. Ladies Singles. Miss Parsons (Manai'i), 9 ; Mrs. lUikes (Pihama), 2. Miss Young (Manaia), 9; Mrs. H. Good (Pihama), 1. Miss Burke (Pihama), 9 ; Miss Hilles (Manaia), G. I Miss Stanley (Opunake), 9; Miss King '(Pihama), 5. Ladies Doubles, - Misses Parsons and Young, 6 ; Mrs. lliikes and Mrs. Good, 3. Misses Kiag and Hilles, 6; Misses Burke and Stanley, 4. The fading light necessitated the shortening of the games. Opunake and Manaia expect to meet Stratford en Monday next.
