TUTUTAWA.
(From a Correspondent,) A very pleasant evening was spent at Tutotawa, 15 miles fast of Stratford, on Thursdry last in connection with the opening of the new schorl. Tha chnir was taken by Mr B. A. Hignett, who was supported by Mr W, L. Kennedy, of the Education Board, and by Mr Moir, chairman of the School Committer. The school was woll filled, a large number of Toko residents having kindly attended to help the gathering, in addition te numbers from the surrounding j district. Songs, recitations, and dialogues, were rendered by the visitors and residents, and at the close a heavty vo'.e cf thanks was accorded to all who had contributed to the evening's enjoyment. A pleasant feature was the preaentttinn of a handsome marble clock, together with a barometer and meerschaum pipe to Mr Moir by the residents, as a slight recognition of his energy in connection with the public affairs of the district. The presentation was made by Mr Brickell, and Mr Moir feelingly responded. Aftjr three hea>.'ty cheers had been given for Mr Moir and for the members of the Education Board present, the gathering finally wouod up with a dance.
