James Bray, a well-known naturalist, after a careful study of parasites, warns the public of the necessity of dtptroying mice Eg well as rats as a precaution against plague. Melbourne, March 4. Amongst other plague precautions renewed efforts are being made to destroy rats. (Received 8. 12.30 p.m.) Melbourne, March 7. Some consternation bas been cau- ed by a report that a woman was discovered at Fitzroy suffering from plague. The doctors state that it is a case ef blood poisoning, but it is being carefully watched. It is positively stated that the sua-' psoted ease at Fitzroy is net plague.
