SUNOAY SCHOOL SOCIAL.
A tkp.t interesting social was held in the Presbyterian Church Hall last evening, on the occasion of the Sunday Sohoel anjyvergary, The Rev. S. S. Osborne occupied the chair ana gave a short but interesting addre°s. The Very Rev. J. W. Elliott, 8.A., Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, also gave an exceedingly interesting addi ess on Church work and the great need there was for the people to encourage their Minister and rally round him. A very cho'cs programme of instrumental and vocal music was also snbpitted and heartily applauded. The room was very handsomely decorated, and during the proceedings refreshments were handed round. The Rev. Osborne to >k occasion also to welcome bick to Ne.v Plymonth Mr. and Mrs, Handy, who have lately returned from AuhCi&H". Another unexpected item was the presentation of a very handsome inkstand to the Rev. Mr. Osbcroe as a mark of love and lesprct from the congregation. The pro sflotation was made by Mr McDiarroiil, and sui'ably acknowledged by Mr, Osborne. Mr. McDiarmid alga proposed a very cordial vote of thanks to the members of the decoration, refreshment, and programme committees, embracing Mpadaraes Osborne, Copland, McDiarmid, C. White, the Misses BettF, Flight, ilaywood, J. Ootti<r, H. Drak>', Keith, N. Strauchon, Oairnie, and Messrs. C. MeDiarmid atd E. Qiltnour. The following were the itemon the programme: -Pianoforte duo , Mrs. Pope and Mias Irvine; cornet solo, Mr. H.
