Bank of England returns for the week:— Stock of gold com and billion, £30,867,000; reserve, £21,514,000; proportion of to liabilities, 58 per cent; notes in circulation, £28,888,000; public deposits, £8,319,000; other deposits, £38699,000; Government securities, £15,898,000; other securities, £28,657,000. Three months' bills are discounted at * 4 1-8 per cent Consols are quoted at 96j. The following are the quotations for Colonial Government securities:—Victorian 4 per cents., 108^; 3£ per cents., 102. New South Wales, 4 per cents., 114; 3J per cents, 103J; 3 per cents, 102. South Australian, 3J per cents, 106*; 3 per cents, 93. Queensland 4 per cents., 107; 3J per cents., 102. New Zealand 4 per cents., 113; 3J per cents, 105}; 3 per cents., 98. Tasmauiau 3J per cents., 102. Westralian, per cents., 100£; Westralian 3£ per cents, 101 J. Wheat: The Continental markets are firm; The kngtish ha" a lower tendency. Cargoes xre quiet. Victoria Jan nary-March shipments are quoted at 30s 3d; sailer parcels, 29s 3d.

The American visible supply of wheat is estimated at 80,324,000 bushels.
