Gardiner's Agitator took the championship for horses, and R Chartres' Herd Lassie for mares. Fur year-old geldings the horse which won at Christchurch, .Timaru and Oamaru was unplaced. The show of blood stoek was disappointing. Casket took the prize for carriage horses. The other classes, including mounted troopers horses, were

good.
