FREEMASONRY.
There was a large gathering of the " Craft" on Wednesday at the annual installation ceremony of Lodge Ngamotw, visiting brethren being present from various parts. After transacting ordinary business the R. W, Bro. Herbert J, Williams, accompanied by Grand Lodge Officers—R. W. Bro. F. P. Corkill, P.G.W.; Wor. Bro. G. F. Robinson, P.G.D., Very Wor. H. Dempsey, P.A.G.S., Wor. P. F. Ralfe, P.G.5.8., with "Wor. Bros. D. McAllum, T. S. Weston, A. D. Gray, and J. C. George —were announced and received with customary honours. R. W. Bro. Williams acted as Installing Master, and P.M. Bro. Thomas Furlong, Jun„ was Director of Ceremonies. The Worshipful Master-Elect, Bro. Henry William Hawkins, was presented by Bro. Furlong, duly obligated and installed in the Chair according to rncient custom. Addresses were given by R. Wor, Bro. F. P. Oorkill, Wor. Bro. G. F. Robinsen, P.G.D. and V.W. Bro. H. Dempsey, and other portions of the ceremony performed by Wor. Bros. Shailer Weston, R. Gillespie, and A. Douglas Gray. The new Worshipful Master then invested his officers as follows ir-Senior Warden, Bro. J. S. Connett, Junior Warden, Bro. J. Dowan; Treasurer, Bro. J. 0, George, P.M.; Secretary, 1 Bro. F. P. Oorkill, P,M. i Director of Ceremonies, Bro. T. Furlong, P.M.; Chaplain, Rev. Bro. F, G. Evans; Organist, Bro. D. McKinnon Bain; Senior Deacon, Bro. J. Parker; Junior Deacon, Bro. F, E, Wilson; Inner Guard, Bro. H. Smat; Senior Steward, Bro. j.,A. Smyth; Junior Steward, Bro, U, A. labor; Tyler, Bro, W. 0. Clarke. ' A feature of the gathering was the presentation of pieces of plate to Broe. Robinson and Oorkill in recognition of their aetive interest,in Masonic mittors. Subsequently the brethreu spent a social evening when the usual toasts were honoured, the intervals being filled in with vocal and intrumental itamx.
