KRUGER DENOUNCED AS A THIEF, Received 26, 10.50 p.m. Capetown, September 26. Sir Gordon Sprigg, in a speech at the Cape Assembly, stated that Krugei was not only a capitalist, but- a thief He had stolen the moneys of the Re publics, and the speaker hoped the Portuguese would compel him to dis gorge his spoils. PROPOSAL FOR' A PROTECTORATE SHELVED. (Received 27,12.50 a.m.) Capetown, September 26. In the Assembly, Mr. Schreiner' amendment recommending a protec torate over the Republics was shelve! by 41 to 39. Received 27,12.45 a.m. London, September 20. The newspapers are urging that i is Portugal's duty to secure the Stat documents in Kruger's hands.
