ROYAL MAIL COACH SERVICE
Mr. T. P. Hucijso.y, the mail contractor betwoen here and Opunake, has just had completed to bis order, a new coach to run between tl e.?e two towns. This coach, which has been tfhielly designed by Mr Hughson himself, bus betn built by Messrs. Honnor and Glark, of this town, To, ensure -mooth running over these rough country roade, the vehicle is swung on six patent springe. Inside is accommodation for ten passengers, while the box seats will accommodate three J besides the driver. The entrance,! >vhich is approached by three steps, is it the.back, thus being an improvemerit on the old coach, which had an ntrance on each side, thus causing a ravoller to climb over tho wheels bofore he could take a seat inside. The pace under the box seat-has been enclosed with sliding doors, and here the nnil bags will be carried safely and will oe protected from the rain, The painting and lettering has boen arlistically finished. Messrs. Honnor and Clark ind staff are to be congratulated on the manner in which the wholo work of the :oach has boen turned out. Mr. Hughson has also to be congratulated on reducing the charges on this line, anil ulso on providing for the comfort and convenience of travellers by haying such a conveyance p« the re»d,
