At the former he uaveiled a brass tablet placed in the main diss room in memory of Gunner John Mocller and Trooper T. W. Poole of the Second New Zealand Contingent, who both met their death in iSoutb. Africa. The tablet is erected by their old schoolfellows. It was stated that twenty-one old Nelson Collegians went to fight in South Africa.
