THE ILLEGAL OPERATION CHARGES.
[PHB PBHBS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington,* September 6. The girl Mary Luke, on whom an illegal operation is alleged to have been performed, died this morning. An inquest will be held this afternoon. Later. The inquest on Miss Luke was opened to-day, but only medical evidence was taken so far. Dr. Fyfie, who made the post mortem, deposed that death was due to peritonitis, caused by a wound to internal organs.
