WAITARA TOWN BOARD ELECTION.
1 TO THE EDITOR, Sir, —I must eoWj notify my friends : that I do not-intend to offer my Ber- . vices to the rati payers for another ! period as member of the Town Board, notwithstanding that I am a good man of business, knowing, of course, that tho wirepullers are at work getting a deputation or a requisition fixed up to ; ask me to stand for tho forthcoming i election. You knorv, this is a very 1 necessary course to take to catch the votes from the unwary to strengthen my position as the voting barometer seems to have fallen lataly. The cause ■ is, I suppose, for favouring tha driving of all cows from the town, leaving room for a milk cart to bo run. Of course, I am not interested in tha cart. Ob, , dear no. Thero are also a few other : things, such as supporting overriding "notices o? motion," the squandering of public moneys in trying to take an old man's housa from ;him, etc. —I am, etc., Citizen 1 ■ Waitxra, September sth, 1900.
