THE OPAKU RESERVE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME.

The deputation appointed at the recent conference of the educational authorities interested in the Opaku reserve for higher education was, with the exception of the delegate from Yictoria College, which was not represented, introduced by Mr. E, M. Smith, M.H.R., to the Minister of Education on Saturday. The Minister stated de-1 jcidedly that the reserve belonged to Taranaki, and ho intimated that after consulting the members for the district he would introduce a Bill which would probably be framed on the lines as laid down in the resolutions passed at the conference.
