At the Supreme Court, aD elderly man, named Alexander Campbell, was sentenced to seven years' hard labour for an indecent assault on two young! girls. A boy named Albert North was found not guilty of a charge of indecent assault on a girl at Whangarc-i. At the conclusion of tke latter case Justice Oonoily commented strongly on thi m'dict, saying the Court might as well bt) discontinued from tho way the hearing of some cas:s resulted. Later. Fred Eyre, late steward of the Working Men's Club, at the Supreme Court, admitted tho theft of £O2, the property of the Club. On account of previous good character, he was admitted to probation, and ordered to refund the amount stolen, and pay costs of the prosecution,
