EFFECTS OF CUSTOMS TARIFF.
PBO PBBSB ASSOCIATION. Wellington, August 29. The oandlemakers are not satisfied with the reconstructed tariff as far as t it applies to csndles, and another conference is to be held to consider the question. A representative of Bell's match faotory in Wellington states that the works here and at Oaversham will continue operations under the revised tariff, but he thinks it is questionable if the duties are sufficient to enable companies to compete with the Belgian matches, large orders for which are out.
