OPENING OF COSMOPOLITAN CLUB.
(PER FHESB ASSOCIATION.) Wanoakut, August 20. The ceremonial proceedings connected with the opening of the new Cosmopolitan (Jlub buildings wero carried out with conspicuous success on Saturday. A largo party of members jof Parliament, including the Hons. Jns. Carroll and J. G. Ward, wore present. The opening ceremony was conducted by the Hon. Jas. Carroll. The buildings, which are of brick, and two storied, were thrown open to the public in the aftornoon and were thionged with visitors, especial!) ladies. The building is one of the finest structures in the town. A banquet was held in the Drill Hall in the evening and was attended by over 400, including several members of both branches of the Legislature. Yesterday an upriver trip was made, three steamors being brought into requisition to accommodate the large party. The visitors left by the express to-day thoroughly satisfied with the hospitality extended and a pleasurable trip,
