' John Eraser; claim Is Id. representing the 10 per cent charged on rates ' in arrear, which defendant refused to " pay, and .custs, lis fcnme v. Frank " Sutherland; claim 7s Oil, and costs ss. • Z. W. Wells v. W. Favvcett; claim ' £i, and costs 10s.; Mr. Wilson for 1 plaintiff. G. Griffiths v. Chas. Saddler; ' claim" £3 ss, and costs ss. John 5 lloberts v. Mrs. Isaacs; claim XI, for 1 two weeks' rent. After hearing both s parties, His Worship gave judgment for 10s, and costs 6s. INTERPLEADER, CASE. Te Uru v. .Atua VVera,—This was 1 an interpleader summons to ascertain the ownership of a cart seized by the bailiff under a distress warrant issued by Te Atua Wera, on a judgment re-, covered against one Wioi. Mr. Weston for plaintiff, Mr. Hughes for defendant. The Rev. Mr. Bennett acted as interpreter. A large number of witnesses were examined, mostly Maoris. The Magistrate, in giving judgment,' said he had some difficulty in coming • to a decision, but, on the whole, h<j held that the plaintiff had made out her ] case, and gave judgment for her, with ! .£4 10s costs. )
