DELEGATES ENTERTAINED. [PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, July 19. £Ehe Municipal Conference delegates were entertained at luncheon to-day at Day's Bay by the Mayor and City Councillors of Wellington. The Conference held its jSdbl sitting to-night, when it was decided to wait upon the Premier to recommend to his notice the resolutions of the Conference, The mayors of Dunedin, Christchurcb, Auckland, and Nelson were elected vice-presidents of the Association. The following were elected an Executive Committee: Tho mayors of Petone, Melrose, Lower Hult, Palmerston North, and Karon, and Gouncilloi Smith (Wellington). A resolution wat carried approving of the Fire Brigades Bill introduced into the House. It was recommended that the Shop Hour* Act bo altered to allow d Boaside resorts to hava a day other tbaa that ehesen by the nwin centrcß for the weekly half-holiday.
