Ia the House Mr. Wilks charged the Postmaster-General with acting as lawyer in cases against the Grown, it was expected that Mr. Wilks would move a notice of amendment on tho Address dealing with the matter, but he refrained from doing so at present. The Address-in-Reply was carried on the voices. When a division was called for on Mr, Reid's amendment the members of the Opposition left. Sydney, June 21. In the Assembly Sir W. J. Lyne stated thit Mr. Barton received £IOOO and a free passage, and asked more owing to his stay in London being longer than he anticipated. The other colonies granted their delegates an additional £SOO. Received 22, 1.22 a.m. Sydney June 21. In the Assembly, there was considerable opposition to Sir W. J. Lyne's proposal to place an extra £SOO on the estimates to cover Mr. Barton's expenses. Sir W. J. Lyne explained that Mr. Bartoa bad expected to ba only six weeks in London, but had already been over fourteen. He submitted a resolution in favour of accepting the latest Commonwealth compromise. The House is now discussing the resolution
