ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

fPBB PBBSB ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, June 16, Lawrence Lorrigan, a carter, was run over by a loaded dray on the wharf this afternoon and died twenty minutes later. Invercargill, June 17. Yesterday afternoon the body of Andrew Davidsm, wood carver, aged 33, was found in the estuary near the jetty. Davidson, whose demeanor had been strange in the early pait of the week, left his home to go to a fire on Wednesday night late, but returned, and must have again gone out, as he was missing in the morning. The body was fully clothed. Deceased leaves a widow and three children. He was a splendid workman and exemplary character, but believed to have been suffering from religious mania. There was a shocking fatality on the Blufl' line last night. Amongst the passengers by the train leaving town at 5 o'clock was Mrs. Janet McGillivray, whose husband is now in Dunedin. For some reason, she left the carriage and down on the platform. When the train was in the long cutting north of Ocean Beach she fell off between the carriages and was cut to pieces. She was a large-framed woman, and two carriages and the brake van in passing over her were derailed. Deceased would be about 48, and had been residing at the port for some years with her family. At the inquest this afternoon the jury found that the cause of death was as stated, no blame being attachable to any person. The accident dislocated the traffic for a time and necessitated the passengers being transferred.
