BREACH OF SCHOOL ATTENDANCE ACT.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib,—ln your issue of the 29th inst. appears a report of two cases of breach of the School Attendance Act, wherein it is staled that the objection laiatil by one of the defendants against seudnjg his child to school was that" immorality went on there." As no particular school district was mentioned in the report, and it seemed likely that discredit would be thrown upon one or other of the town schools, the Chairman of the Town School Committee caused enquiries to be made, which resulted in it being ascertained that the child refer red *o was not attending either of the town schools, I have authority for stying t>i at the Education Board will c jmmuMCito with the Committee con-c-tiH <l, niili the object of causing further investigation to be made as to the truth or otherwise of the statement, Hoping that you will, with your usual courtesy, permit this explanation to go forth to your readers,—l am, etc., B.
