THE BOERS AND THE WHITE FLAG.
EXEMPLARY PUNISHMENT. I Beceived 30,1.10 a.m. 1 London, May 29. ' Details of the engagement at Boshof last month, where Mr. Patrick Campbell, husband of the well-known actrets, met his death, show that Campbell was killed while advancing to receive the surrender of Boers. Lord Chesham, commanding the Imperial Yeomanry, in which Campbell was a sergeant, threatened to shcot every Boer unless the abuser cf the white flag surrendered. The demand was complied with, and the murderer was shot. A cable of May 6th says that a Boer who shot Trooper Smytho at Oonkespoort was c<ip med, courtmartialkd, and shot at Clocowu.
