(PER Pit ESS ASSOCIATION.) (Received IS, 11.10 p.m.) Sydney, May 18. The A.M.P. Society's annual report was adopted. Messrs. Meeks and Walker were re-elected directors. The Chairman said the Society had enterod pn the second half-century with bright indications of a prosperous future. The new business for the year totalled .£3,955,085 —a recerd for this Society. The surplus for the year was £566,000 and it was proposed t divide £500,000. The rate on Government securities had been increased by £491,000. The directors had come to the conclusion chat the time had arrived for an extension of operations in other parts of the world, but a vote would be taken at a special meeting to be held to decide the matter. The report referred jto the advantageous purchase of pre-' I mises in Nelson, New Zealand. The Chairman said the claims for the year were £70,000 loss than the pre[vious year. The funds had increased £895,691. With a few trifling exceptions, the rate of interest assured would realise in the future 3 ' per cent.
