THE BOER WAR.
The Theatre Royal next Friday and Saturday will be occupied by the Edison Kinematograph Company with their grand patriotic scenic entertainment of " The Boer War," when thrilling living pictures of real warfare (taken by permission of the British Government) will be shown, also a large number of scenes of special interest, such as brilliant deeds, brave heroes, our boys in South Africa, departure of colonial contingents,and many humourous scenes Generals, officers, men, stirring events, and views of special interest will be shown by the myriorama, and a grand concert programme by world-famed artistes will be supplied by the Colossophone, which the Auckland Star saye "is a wonderful instrument." It reproduces sound louder than the original with all the natural sweetness and melody. Of the pictures, the Poverty Bay Herald says: '< No finer set of views has yet been shown in Gisborne." The exhibition has everywhere met enthusiastic receptions," and is voted the best up-to-date living picture entertainment in the colony. Mr. Charles Cooper is scenic artist.
