A CHRISTCHURCH SUICIDE.

FINANCIAL WORRIES THE CAUSE OF THE DEED. [PUB PBES3 ASSOCIATION.] Ohbibtohubch, May 3. A sensation was caused in the city this morning when it was reported that David S. Bowman, formerly a wellknown auctioneer, and latterly a pawnbroker, had been found dead in an outhouse at the rear of his residence at Papanui, with a bullet wound over his right ear. A loaded sis chamber revolver was found under his right hand, two chambers having been discharged. The supposed cause of the deed is financial troubles. He offered a private meeting of his creditors 10s in the £, but it was rejected, and he threatened, if forced into the Bankruptcy Oourt, to destroy himself, but no notice was taken of the threat.

Later. At an inquest on David S. Bowman, a pawnbroker, who was found shot in a shed at his residence, a verdict of suicide while temporarily insane was returned.
