Wellington, May 1. His Excellency the Givernor ha* received the following cable from Sii Alfred Milnor, dated Capetown, 30tL April:—" Referring to your telegram of 28 th March. Tbme has been unavoidable delay in obtaining information, but to-day I ain informed that Privates Smith and Harding, of the New Zealand Mounted Infantry, are both couvakscout from enteric fever in the Kimberloy Hospital." This message is in reply to one sent by thi Governor asking Sir Alfred Milner to keep sending information as to tht sick, and to sparo no expense in attend ing to their need**.
