He was called out to interviews lady,swho questioned him on his refusing to grant leave to a postal employee who had been chosen for the Imperial Bushmen. Mr. Watt refused to discuss the matter. The woman then proclaimed herself a Britisher, and accused Mr. Watt of being a pro-Boer. She drew a whip from under her cloak and struck him several times across the shoulders. Mr. Watt treated the incident as a joke.
