THE GOVERNOR AT AUCKLAND.
VETEHANS EN TEKTAINED. [PER PRESS association.] Auckla d, April 24, This afternoon His Excellency the Governor entertained at Government House a large number of veterans. A capital Juticheou was served in the ballroom. Tho decorations and arrangements were kindly carried out by j h large staff under the personal direction of the Counter. The dais was covered in flago, among which were displayed the fioyal Standard, the Union Jack, and the Stars and Stripes. His Excellency took groat interest in the functions, and worked hard to make the gathering a unique and historical affair. The Mayor of Auckland and the Mayor of Onehunga Wire present. Lady llanfurly sang "The l>ear Little Shamrock" and " Th< Meeting of the Wa.ers." Five hundred and thirty-five invitations wen issued, but 48 resetted tbey were unable to come.
