LICENSING BENCH ELECTIONS.

CANDIDATES NOMINATED. The following nominations were lodged on Wednesday with the Returning Officer, Mr. T. Shailer Weston: Messrs. E. Maxwell (by Messrs. T. Furlong, jar., and T. Avery), W. Bayly, F. J. Mace, J. S. MoKallar, W. L. Newman (by Messrs. NewtoD King and J. Avery), J. B. Roy (by Mrs. Douglas and Messrs. A. B. E. Fookes, D. Berry, and A. Ambury), Joseph Asher (by Messrs. J. B. Conns tt, W. 0. Olark, E. Dookrill, and E. Armitage), Francis B. Hutchinson (by Messrs, D, Berry, Hal Goodacre, A. Ambury, and J. W. Morshead), F. P. Oorkill (by Messrs. J. Grayson and J. Whitaker), 0. K. Stock (by Messrs. T. Brash, S. Harper, J. Mynott and F. R. James). The first five gentlemen or. the list are members of the present Committee. The election takes place on Thursday, 22nd inst.

[PEB PBBSS ASSOCIATION.] Wem.ing.ton, March 14. Five temperance candidates were nominated for the Licensing Election. The old Committee, excepting, of course, Mr. E. W. Mills, deceased, have also been nominated, besides which there are a couple of other aspirants to sit on the Licensing Bench, the latter being like the old Committee of the moderate party. Stratford, March 14. j

' The temperance and moderate parties in the Egmont electorate joined forces and nominated five splendid men as candidates to-day—Messrs. Dingle, Rowan Road; Monkhouse and R. Morrison, Stratford; Kennedy, Toko ; Hignett, Waitara. Mr. Snell, of Waitara, was also nominated, but by what party is not known here. The election will take place on the 22nd if no one withdraws.
