The day was a trifle hot for the spectators, but to the competitors the heat was rather an advantage. The Oity Band provided excellent music during the afternoon. Much of the success of the sparts was due to the untiring efforts of the officials, who worked with an ardour worthy of imitation. Some of the competitors finished in excellent style, and the swimming generally was good.
