The all-engrossing topic of conversation continues to be the war. The News is eagerly looked for every morning, Stratford residents await its arrival, as the provincial townsmen in England look for The Times, There is not much news to chronicle just now. Salvage sales are the order of the day. The building trade continues very brisk, though no start has been made with re-building Broadway. There are a few pro-Boers still ramping around. It cannot be said that they are patriotic; if they were, surely they would charter a canoe, and paddle away to Cronje's aid.
The Primitive Methodists had a successful social on Thursday to farewell Rev. Dudley and welcome Rev. Hunt. Stratford is fast redeeming itsreputation regarding weather. We have had some refreshing rain, and now the bright sunny sunshine and our bracing atmosphere make a life of work enjoyl- -
