was commenced to-day. Wanganui batted first, and put up 128, the principal scorers being:— t McCarthy.. ~ .. .. 29 J Gillies 20 Meldrum 17 Pratt 12 Marshall .. .. ..11 The visitors followed, and when stumps were drawn had secured 182 for 9 wickets. The principal scorers were— Mailer .. .. .. .. 63 Graham 45 Trumble .. .. ..12 For the visitors, Cave took 3 wickets for 47; Trumble, 4 for 47. In the home team McCarthy took 3 for 38; L. P. Cave, 3 for 41. [From a private source, we learn that E, Lash, of New Plymouth, made 3 not j out, and had the honour of catching Trumble, the Victorians' crack.] i The New Plymouth 11. and Unity Juniors meet in a friendly game at the Recreation Grounds to-day, at 2 p.m. sharp.
