THE WILLIAMS SHAKESPERIAN RECITALS.
■ On Tuesday evening St. Mary's Hall ; was well filled by an audience who followed the recital by Mrs. Williams of "As You Like It" with intelligent 1 interest and great appreciation. Mrs. ; Williams is an excellent delineator of Shakesperian characters, and enters into the spirit of the text with all the varied intonations appropriate to the characters and their utterances. It might naturally be assumed that this talented lady would be at her best in the feminine characters, but, although 1 in these every point was brought out i in a most refined and natural manner, the parts of the male characters, especii ally of the elderly portion, wererendered with consummate ability and fidelity. i From first to last the audience were in thorough: sympathy with the accomi plislied reciter, for whom nothing but praise was heard, even from those inclined to be critical. There is no i doubt but that Mr. Williams will be i equally successful in " The Taming of the Shrew," which is the piece selected , for this evening's recital.
