TRAINING IN SYDNEY

The names of three non-commis-sioned officers of the regular forces selected to undergo a three months’ cavalry course at Randwick, Sydney, were announced to-night by the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones. They are Sergeant' C. F. Rudd, R.N.Z.A., Christchurch, Sergeant W. E. Bradley, R.N.Z.A, Auckland at present undergoing a course of instruction at Trentham military camp, and Bombardier G. H. Martin, R.N.Z.A., Wellington. They are to leave Wellington for Sydney by the Wanganella next Thursday. As announced by Mr Jones in a statement issued on Thursday these non-commissioned officers will be posted as instructors with mounted rifle regiments on their return to New Zealand. ’’the course will commence on July 15. It was pointed out by Mr Jones that the course was particularly opportune qs there were no means of training mounted instructors with the limited facilities in New Zealand.
