The giant Empire flying boat Caledonia, which has just been launched ■after undergoing final overhaul at the Imperial Airways works at Southampton, on Monday- will leave Shannon on her epic 2000 miles flight across the Atlantic. It is.- expected that the journey will take 18 hours. The American Sikorsky 5428 Clipper, which is already in position .for her journey in the opposite direction, will leave her base at Botwood, Newfoundland at the same time, so that the sfliips will pass each other in midAtlantic.
