BOXING AT GISBORNE
Decision To Martin Press Association—Copyright. Gisborne, July 1. After ta fine boxing match in which both men showed fine sportsmanship, Billy Martin, lOst. 61b., was awarded a decision over Jack McMahon, lOst. 91b., after a 12-round encounter. The decision was a surprise. McMahon was always the aggressor and took the majority of Jiis opponent’s blows on his elbows and gloves. Martin was handicapped by an eye injury in the first round as a result of a bump from McMahon’s head.
