TE AWAMUTU FATALITY YOUNG FARMER KILLED Clothing Caught On Limited Express Press Association —Copyright. Te' AWamutu, July 2. A fatality ocurred at the railway station this n|orning. When the north bound Limited express was leaving, Maurice Keith Laird, married, aged 41, a returned soldier, who recently arrived from Westmere to take over a farm near Ohaupo, was killed. Laird came from the farm to meet a young employee arriving by he Express. When stepping off the train L'aird’f clothing became caught, ana he was dragged about 100 yards. His body was shockingly mutilated.

Nobody saw the accident, but aftei the tain had gone the porter saw a dark object lying near the water tank, investigation revealing the body.
